As part of a broad commitment to social responsibility, Ampad announces it has achieved the Forest Stewardship Council Chain-of-Custody Certification across all product categories that Ampad manufactures. By achieving FSC certification, Ampad joins a growing community of companies, landowners, and social and environmental organizations, which are committed to improving forest practices on a global scale.
Why is Forest Certification Important?
Forest certification enables consumers to make informed choices when selecting wood and other forest products. It promotes responsible forest management by evaluating and accrediting certifiers, by encouraging the development of national and regional forest management standards, and ensures that the world's forests are protected for future generations.
What is FSC?
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is the global consensus voice of responsible forest management, and is the only forest products certification system endorsed by the world’s leading environmental advocacy groups like the World Wildlife Fund, The Nature Conservancy and the National Wildlife Federation. There are currently more than 26 million acres of FSC-certified forestland in the U.S. and more than 253 million acres globally.
